Château Margaux, Margaux, AOC, 1er Cru Classé en Medoc, dry, red

With origins dating back to the 12th century, Château Margaux is one of those Grands Crus that have built the legend of great Bordeaux wines around the world. In 1855, the château was awarded the title of Premier Grand Cru Classé and was the only one to achieve a score of twenty out of twenty. The Château Margaux vineyard owes its distinctive character to its rare and unique terroir, situated on a hillock of gravel. Château Margaux has been owned by the Mentzelopoulos family since 1977.
