Château Haut-Brion Rouge, Pessac Léognan, AOC, 1er Grand Cru Classé en Medoc, dry, red

In 1521, Haut-Brion became the first cru in Bordeaux to be named after its terroir, rather than by the name of its owner or its commune, making the estate the first Grand Vin in the world and leading to its rare distinction as Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Classement, the only cru outside the Médoc to be considered in this prestigious classification.
